Oliva (Lang) Pfannenstiel
Munjor, Kansas – Oliva (Lang) Pfannenstiel, age 97, died Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Via Christi Village Care Center, Hays, Kansas.
She was born March 5, 1916, on the family farm East of Hays, Kansas, to Anthony and Catherine “Katie” (Wiesner) Lang. She married Edward Pfannenstiel on May 21,1934, at Munjor, Kansas. He died March 3, 1982.
She was a homemaker. She was a graduate of Victoria High School. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and St. Francis Christian Mothers, both of Munjor, Kansas. She enjoyed baking, needle work and her family.
Survivors include two sons, Vernon Pfannenstiel, Verlin Pfannenstiel and wife, Elaine, Both of Munjor, KS; six daughters, Darlene Dinges and husband, Robert, Dalton, GA; Jeanette Tauscher and husband, Charles, Juanita Stecklein and husband, Alan, both of Hays, KS; Judy Pfannenstiel-Waxse and husband, Dave, Overland Park, KS; Mary Pfannenstiel-Miller and husband, Tim, Lincoln, NE; Joyce Allen and husband, Gene, Atchison, KS: three brothers, Clarence Lang and wife, Melinda, George Lang and wife, Lenora, Ralph Lang and wife, Bertha, all of Hays, KS; one sister, Leona Walters, Hays, KS; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Lang, Catherine, KS; Rita Legleiter LaCrosse, KS; 27 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, eight step great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and one step great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one infant daughter, Mary Pfannenstiel; one daughter-in-law, Anna Mae Pfannenstiel, and two brothers, Anthony “Tony” Lang and Isadore Lang.
Services are at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 4, 2013, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Munjor, Kansas. Burial in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Munjor, Kansas.
A St. Francis Christian Mothers and Hays Daughters of Isabella rosary is at 6:30 P.M. Friday, and a vigil service at 7:00 P.M. Friday, at Cline’s Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas 67601.
Visitation is from 5:00 to 8:30 P.M. Friday, and from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M. Saturday, all at Cline’s Mortuary of Hays.
Memorials to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church or Hospice of Hays Medical Center.
