Senator Pat Roberts today endorsed Congressman Tim Huelskamp for re-election to the United States Congress. Senator Roberts represented the Big First District in Congress prior to his election to the U.S. Senate.
“I am proud to endorse Tim Huelskamp for re-election to Congress. Tim is a farmer from Fowler, and he has done a fine job representing the most productive Ag District in the country. He has distinguished himself not only as a fighter for our Kansas values in Washington, but also as one of the leading conservatives in the entire Capitol. Tim is not afraid to stand up for what we believe and is truly making a real difference in Congress.” – Senator Pat Roberts
Congressman Huelskamp said, “I am excited to have the endorsement of my mentor and friend. Pat Roberts embodies Kansas with his determination to fight for our state at every turn and I look forward to continuing to fight alongside Pat to advance common sense Kansas values. As a farmer, I deeply respect Pat Roberts’ work to promote and advance Kansas agriculture and I am honored to have his support.”
Congressman Huelskamp has continued the tradition set by Pat Roberts and others of holding a town hall meeting each year in every county in the Big First District. Since his election in 2010, Congressman Huelskamp has hosted 171 town halls with many more coming in the weeks ahead. Huelskamp remains a strong advocate for his constituents in the Big First District and has emerged as a top conservative leader in Washington. He has built a reputation for taking on the Washington establishment and taking principled stands against excessive government spending, for traditional marriage and the protection of the unborn.
