The Ellis County Commission will hold a public hearing tonight at 6:45 to on a proposed amendment to the boundary of rural water district 1C, South of Hays.

Greg Sund, Ellis County Administrator told Hays Post, “There are 9 or 10 properties that are looking to be added to the water district. We received a petition from them asking for the hearing. If the commissioners approve it and pass a resolution then the boundary is amended.

There are several parties, in that area, that have had no running water for several years.  The city of Hays had provided water to residents along that line. The state will not allow that to continue because it was not fully treated water.”
