The Hays High girls’ soccer team is headed to the 5A state quarterfinals for a second straight year after a 2-1 win over Goddard-Eisenhower Thursday afternoon at
the HHS Field.
The Indians jumped out early, scoring on an April Johnson goal three minutes in. Michele Linville found the back of the net off an assist from Taylor Herman in the 39th minute.
Eisenhower scored their lone goal in the 79th minute.
The victory improves the Indians unbeaten streak to 11 matches and moves them to 15-2-1 on the season. They will now host Bishop Carroll (14-1-3) Tuesday at the HHS Field.
