HHS Girls’ Soccer Falls in 5A Quarterfinals

The Hays High girls’ soccer season came to an end Tuesday, losing 1-0 to Bishop Carroll in the 5A state quarterfinals at the Hays High Field.

The Eagles scored the game’s lone goal in the 25th minute. The Indians had several chances to tie it in the second half including one shot bouncing off the side pole back to the keeper.

The Indians see their remarkable run end with a 15-3-1 record. Carroll improves to 15-1-3 and moves on to the state semifinals.

The game also marked the final for coach Chris Michaelis, who’s ending his 15-year coaching career with the Indians. Assistant coach Saul Hernandez will take over both the boys and girls programs next season.
