High winds were responsible for a Friday night accident on I-70 in Sherman County. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, “A tractor trailer was heading eastbound on I-70 at mile post 28.4  when a gush of wind caused the semi driver to lose control. The truck crossed both lanes and overturned in the median.  David Philip Mierzwa,52 of Seminole, Florida was transported to Goodland Regional Medical Center. He was wearing a seat belt.”
