NW Kansas Couple among 5 Injured in 3 Vehicle Crash

Five people were injured in a three-vehicle crash in Southwest Kansas on Saturday. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, “A GMC passenger vehicle driven by Kansas Highway Patrol85 year old Raymon Reynolds of Dalhart, Texas was south bound on US 83 approaching the US 56 junction, near Sublette in Southwest Kansas at the time of the accident.

Reynolds failed to stop at the stop sign and struck a 2004 Buick driven by 65 year old Paula Jean Rathbun of Plainville. Both vehicles continued southbound into the northbound lanes hitting a 2009 Pontiac driven by Kacie Moree, age 14, of Sublette.  Moree was stopped in northbound lane of US 83 at the US 56 junction at the time of the accident.  Reynolds and his 82-year-old wife were taken Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.  Rathbun and 54-year-old Mark Douglas Rathbun, a passenger in the Buick, were taken to Santanta District Hospital.  Thirty eight year old Keely A. Blackwood of Liberal, a passenger in the Pontiac was transported to a Wichita hospital. Three others in the Pontiac were not injured.”
