Three Injured in Monday Accident, One Booked into Jail

KHP-PatchThree people injured early Monday morning in a wreck of a semi on I-70 west of the junction with I-135 near Salina.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 24-year-old Mark Armstrong of Conroe Texas was driving eastbound about 1:35am when he bent down to pick something up and took his eyes off the road.

The truck veered into the median and overturned onto the drivers side.

Armstrong and passengers 30-year-old Alsfonso Ortega of Denver, and 21-year-old Caiti Deasy of Austin, Texas were taken to Salina Regional Health Center for treatment of injuries.

Armstrong was wearing seat belt, the others were not.

After treatment at the hospital, Armstrong was booked into the Saline County Jail on charges of driving while suspended, operating a motor vehicle without a valid license, and improper driving on a laned roadway.
