Claire B. Dreiling, 99, formerly of Hays, died Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the Ellis Good Samaritan Society.

Harold Lester Heronemus

Harold Lester Heronemus, age 89, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas surrounded by his loving family.

Harold was born October 26, 1928 on the family farm at Nekoma, Kansas, the oldest son of Jacob & Elizabeth (Schwartz) Heronemus. He served in the United States Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict from 1951 through 1953. Following his discharge, he moved to Wichita County, Kansas where he met the love of his life, Lorraine Appl. They were married an August 6, 1953 at Ness City, Kansas and they then began farming and raising cattle on the Appl homestead south of Leoti, Kansas.

Harold also worked for the Wichita County Road Dept, was an Assessor for Wichita County and had a disc rolling and blade sharpening business.

He enjoyed attending auctions and collecting guns, coins, antiques and other keepsakes. Most of all, he loved his wife and family and attending all events that his children and grandchildren were involved in.

Harold attended the United Methodist Church in Leoti, Kansas. He was a member of the former V.F.W. in Leoti, Kansas and the American Legion in Garden City, Kansas.

His parents, Two brothers, Alvin Heronemus and Lee Heronemus, and one sister, Evelyn Powell precede him in death.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 am Friday, May 25, 2018 at Leoti Cemetery in Leoti, Kansas with Reverend Brad Kirk officiating and military honors provided by the Funeral Detail from Fort Riley, Kansas.

There will be no public visitation.

Memorials may be given to the Leoti E.M.T.’s in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas.

Loyd Eugene Frazey

Loyd Eugene Frazey, the oldest son of Bruce G. and Irene (Bomgardner) Frazey was born July 28, 1923 near Bogue, Kansas.

He graduated from Bogue High School in 1946. After graduation he moved to Denver, Colorado where we worked until returning to Hill City, Kansas. He managed the Hill City Locker plant until he enlisted in the Air Force in 1950. He was honorably discharged in 1958 after spending 3 years in England.

He married Nola Voss, June 20, 1953. To the union 4 children were born: David, Nancy, Cindy and Roxanne. After his discharge he lived in Gravette, Arkansas for a short time then moved to Graham County Kansas where be became a farmer and stock-man. After retirement he lived in Hays, Kansas, Decatur, Texas and Andover, Kansas. He and Nola enjoyed traveling in their RV until his health failed.

He was a member of the Assembly of God Church, serving several terms as a deacon.

He is survived by his wife Nola; son: David (Catherine) Frazey of Decatur, Texas; daughters: Nancy Guthrie, Ellis, Kansas, Cindy Fugate, Greeley, Colorado and Roxanne (Guy) Cox, Towanda, Kansas; brothers: Leo and Donald; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and five step great grandchildren. He loved his family and was a special grandpa.

Jeanie Siler

Private family memorial services for Jeanie Siler, 78, Prairie Village, will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. She passed away Friday, May 11, 2018 at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, KS.

Jeanie was born July 1, 1939 in Larned, KS, the daughter of Ross N. and Agda (Pierson) Morrow.

She studied Elementary Education at Fort Hays State University before settling down as a Homemaker to her family. Her education fueled a lifetime of interest in psychology, sociology, health, nutrition and philosophy. She continued to take classes and study a variety of topics throughout her life.

She married Ken Boomhower on August 21, 1960 in Garfield, KS. He preceded her in death in May 1973. She then married Dr. Eugene T. “Gene” Siler on November 27, 1976 in Wichita, KS. ,He preceded her in death April 13, 2008.

Survivors include her two daughters, Cheryl Commerford, Prairie Village, KS, Kristi Mills, Pismo Beach, CA; five grandchildren, Ross, Jane, Amelia Commerford, Julian Mills and Christian Coleman. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Boomhower, one sister, Audrey Morrow and one brother, Norman Morrow.

Memorial Contributions may be made in her name to Smile Train or 20/20/20 and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

George Albert ‘Al’ Price

Longtime Goodland, Kansas, resident George Albert “Al” Price, 92, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the Goodland Regional Medical Center in Goodland.

Al was born on November 6, 1925 in Adair, Oklahoma to Charley and Oma Ellen (Mosier) Price. He was one of two children.

Having lost his parents at an early age, some of his schooling was in Joplin, Missouri at the St. Joseph’s Children’s Home. As a teenager, he moved to Crowley, Colorado, where his brother Bill lived. There he met the Charley Robison family. Charley, Ruby and their children and became his second family.

In 1951, he joined the Army Signal Corps where he received his training in communications. After returning home, he took a correspondence course from the Cleveland Institute of Technology; where he received his First Class FCC License which prepared him for a lifetime occupation which he loved.

In the late 50s, he moved to St. Francis, Kansas and worked with the gas company. There he met and married Hilda Rogers. They had one daughter, Lori. In 1969, the family moved to Goodland, where Al worked as a broadcast engineer at KLOE until his retirement in 1995.

From an early age Al loved to tinker. Nothing was safe from being taken apart and hopefully reassembled. Al also loved to travel. He got the travel bug when he was stationed in Japan. He was able to travel for the next 60 years. He also enjoyed photography and fishing. In later years, he loved tinkering with his computer.

Preceding Al in death were his wife Hilda, his parents, his foster parents and his brother Bill Wells.
He is survived by his daughter Lori (Dewayne) Lalicker of Goodland, granddaughter Trista (Mike) Zimmerman of Goodland, three grandsons Brett Lalicker of Phoenix, Arizona, and Ryan Lalicker and Matthew Lalicker of Goodland, KS; as well as two great granddaughters Alexis and Brynlee Zimmerman of Goodland, KS.

Memorial Services for Al will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 2:00 PM MT at the Goodland United Methodist Church in Goodland with Pastor Zach Anderson officiating. Private family burial was held in Goodland Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are designated to the Goodland United Methodist Church or to Youthville and may be left at the services or mailed to Koons-Russell Funeral Home, 211 N. Main Ave., Goodland, KS 67735.

Robert Leon Lewis

Robert Leon Lewis, age 75, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on March 29, 1943 in Ottawa, Kansas, the son of Millard Rex and Maxine Hayden Lewis. Robert was a resident of Scott City, Kansas in the 1980‘s and then moved back in 2013 from eastern Kansas. He was a butcher and owner and operator of a health club.

On May 25, 1962 he married Zada Anderson in Ottawa, Kansas. She passed away in 1991 in Scott City, Kansas.

Survivors include: Two Sons Rick & Joy Lewis of Overland Park, Kansas, Lance & Tanya Lewis of Sidney, Nebraska One Daughter – Rhonda & Marvin Vallejo of Scott City, Kansas, One Brother Jim Lewis of Lawrence, Kansas, One Sister Bonnie Watson of Arizona, Eight Grandchildren and Eight Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his Parents and Wife.

Private family services will be held at a later date and time.

Memorials can be made to the Robert Lewis Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Homes.

Inurnment will be in the Scott County Cemetery.

There will be no calling times.

William Clare ‘Bill’ Barker

William Clare “Bill” Barker, age 75, of Hays, Kansas, died Sunday, May 20, 2018, at his home.

He was born on May 7, 1943, in Norton, Kansas, to Clarence J. and Goldie E. (Van Diest) Barker. He married Priyanai (Suvanasingha) on November 28, 1969, in Little Rock, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on November 30, 1994. He then married Rita J. (Long) on May 31, 1997, in the Old St. Anthony Hospital Chapel in Hays, Kansas.

He worked in Oberlin, Colby and Hays in the insurance and banking business and retired in 2008, after 20 years with the Farmers Credit Union in Hays, Kansas. He was a 1961 graduate of Prairie View High School and a 1965 graduate of Kansas State University. He taught middle school for a few years in Buhler and Independence before moving to Hays, Kansas in 1990. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and served four years in Bangkok, Thailand and Little Rock, Arkansas.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hays, a Lifetime Member of the V.F.W. Post No. 6882 and the Rotary Club both of Colby. He enjoyed fishing, all sports and was an avid Kansas State fan.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Barker, of the home; one daughter, Anita Thiel and husband, Jess, Levant, KS; two step daughters, Sue Molnar, Hays, KS; Donna Lehmann and husband, Anand Mukherjee, Brooklyn, NY; two brothers, Steve Barker and wife, Suzanne, Kearney, NE; Dave Barker and wife, Cathy, Lawrence, KS; two grandchildren, Oscar and Nora Mukherjee.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife.

Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, May 25, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church, 7th and Ash, Hays, Kansas. Burial in Fort Hays Memorial Garden Cemetery, Hays, Kansas with military honors by the Hays V.F.W. Post No. 9076.

Visitation is from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas 67601 and from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Friday, at the First United Methodist Church, Hays, Kansas.
The family suggests memorials to the First United Methodist Church or Hospice of Hays Medical Center.

Joanne Claycamp

Joanne Claycamp, 85, formerly of WaKeeney, KS, late of Kenosha, WI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Casa Del Mare.

Born in Hill City, KS, on July 14, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Arnold and Oakie (Bell) Hillman. She was educated in the schools of WaKeeney and married her high school sweetheart, Henry Claycamp. Shortly after, Joanne and Henry began a lifelong adventure of many moves across the country as Henry progressed in academic and business positions. She moved to Kenosha in 2010 from living in McKinney, TX, and previously on both US coasts, and even a year in Switzerland.

Joanne was known as both a talented cook and a gracious hostess for both casual and formal dinner parties. She was always active in community social and volunteer activities wherever she lived. Joanne was a managing volunteer for the American Cancer Society in California and a committed hospital volunteer in McKinney. She spent some of her empty nest years sharpening her bridge play, painting, pottery and tap dancing with Evening Stars tap dancing group in Texas.

Above all, Joanne loved family and gathering her family for visits and holidays. Surviving are her four children, Eric (Margaret) Claycamp of Grapevine, TX, Gregg (Rebecca) Claycamp of North Potomac, MD, Jan (Dennis) Claycamp-Dickey of Woodstock, GA, and Jill (Dan) Watring of Kenosha, WI; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorene Hitchcock.

A graveside gathering will take place May 26, 2018, 1:00 PM at the WaKeeney City Cemetery.

Memorials in Joanne’s name will be accepted for the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America or the American Cancer Society.

Gary B. Cunningham

Gary B. Cunningham passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Via Christi Hospital St. Francis in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 74. He was born on August 31, 1943 in Ellsworth, Kansas to the late Bernard F. “Dutch” and Blanche (Kunkel) Cunningham. He grew up in Wilson, Kansas and graduated from Wilson High School. On June 17, 1965 he was united in marriage to Lucretia Sanders in Hays, Kansas.

Gary worked as a truck driver and mechanic. He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and was also a trap shooting enthusiast. He always liked racing and working on racecars.

Gary is survived by his wife Lucretia Cunningham of the home in Wilson; step-sons Gary Sanders of Wilson, and Brian Sanders and wife Susan of Giltner, NE; step-daughters Debra Sanders of South Hutchinson, Dorothy Sanders of Hutchinson, and Brenda Unruh and husband Dean of Hutchinson; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents B.F. and Blanche Cunningham, and son Scott Cunningham.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the Wilson City Cemetery. Inurnment will follow. There will be no visitation.

Patricia Angelone

Mrs. Patricia Angelone entered eternal rest on Thursday May 17, 2018. She was 89 years old. Patricia was the beloved wife of the late Oliver William.

She was the devoted mother to Annamarie Galvin, the late John, Paul, Lisa, and Carla Lown. She was the loving grandmother to Laura, Renae, Ian, Devan, Emily, Nicholas Jake, Nika, Aiyana, Matthew, and Jaclyn.

Patricia also leaves behind 1 brother, Gale Schlageck and several loving nieces and nephews.

The Angelone family will be receiving friends on Sunday from 3-7 p.m. at the Harrison Funeral Home. Mass of the Christian Burial Monday 11 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Church.

William Barker, age 72, of Hays, Kansas died Sunday, May 20, 2018, at his home.  Services are pending at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas.

Paula Sue Rein

Paula Sue Rein, age 57, died on May 16, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society, Ellis, Kansas. She was born on October 10, 1960 in LaCrosse, Kansas the youngest daughter of Cletus and JoAnn Dreasher Rein.

Paula graduated from Bazine High School and worked for many years in restaurant and home health services.
She is survived by six brothers, Dale of Burlington, Kansas, Daryl (Vonia) of Cimarron, Joel (Deniese) of Hutchinson, Alan of Bazine, Brad and Myron of Ness City and four sisters, Cindy Rein of Wichita, Patty Legleiter (Neil) of Hays, and Julie Roane (Jerry) of Utica and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be on Saturday, May 19, 2018, 2:00 P.M. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City with burial in the Ness City Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Christ Pilot Me Hill of Bazine, Wheatview Apartments of Ness City and Good Samaritan Society of Ellis.
