Dale L. Redmond, age 87, of Quinter, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2019, at Gove County Medical Center – Long Term Care.

John Alan Webster

John Alan Webster, age 59, passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Monday, September 9, 2019. He was born on February 27, 1960 in Scott City, Kansas, the son of Charles Daniel Webster and Lillian Norma Boulware. A resident of Scott City, Kansas for 20-30 years before moving to Hotel, Oklahoma. He was a farmer and horse trainer.

In the mid 1970’s he married Brenda Parker.

Survivors include his Two Daughters – Shelly & Scott Payne of Stanley, North Carolina, Tammy McClintock of Stanley, North Carolina, One Brother – Lance & Janell Webster of Scott City, Kansas, Two Sisters – Kerri Chavez of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Lesha Webster of Ellinwood, Kansas, Step Father – James Simons of Marienthal, Kansas and Four Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Mother and One Son – James Webster.

Graveside Services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas with Rev. Kyle Evans presiding.

Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Saturday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.

Paul Eugene Nather

Paul Eugene Nather, 57, Timken, Kansas, died Friday, September 13, 2019, at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis, Wichita, Kansas.

Paul was born July 8, 1962, in La Crosse, Kansas, the son of Edward Ernest and Mary Ann (Oborny) Nather. He was a lifelong resident of Rush County, Kansas. He was a farmer, and a master mechanic for Superior Essex, Hoisington, Kansas, for 21 years.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Timken, Kansas.

On April 13, 2013, he married Sheila Schad at the former St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, located on the grounds of the Barton County Historical Society Museum and Village, Great Bend, Kansas.

Survivors include: his wife, Sheila Nather, Timken, Kansas; four daughters, Jennifer Roth (Zachary), La Crosse, Kansas, Kera Willer (Erik), Phillipsburg, Kansas, Audra Nuckolls (Nate Warner), Great Bend, Kansas, and Sedonah Schad, Timken, Kansas; one grandson, Riggins Willer, Phillipsburg, Kansas; one brother, Ed Nather, Colorado Springs, Colorado; two sisters, Annie Pechanec, Hays, Kansas, and Linda Hampton, (Paul), Larned, Kansas; and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be Monday, September 16, 2019, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse, Kansas, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A vigil service and rosary will be at 7:00 P.M.

Church visitation will be Tuesday, September 17, 2019, from 9:00 A.M. to 9:50 A.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Timken, Kansas.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Timken, Kansas, with Father Anselm Eke officiating. Interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Timken, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association, or the Rush County Sheriff’s Office Equipment Fund, La Crosse, Kansas.

Trella Ann Berscheidt

Trella Ann Berscheidt, 75, passed away September 12, 2019, at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington. She was born February 29, 1944 in Alexander, KS to Glenn C. & Hazel M. (Swartz) Scheuerman. She married Paul Berscheidt June 23, 1962, at Ellinwood, KS. He survives.

A lifetime Great Bend resident, Trella worked as a Clerk at the Barton County Courthouse. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. She enjoyed helping people and performed volunteer work. Trella loved people, her family and always took care of her husband.

Survivors include, her husband Paul of the home; one son, Michael Berscheidt of Gardner, KS; one daughter, Kimberly Schenk and husband Greg of Great Bend; two brothers, Terry D. Scheuerman and wife Naomi of Tecumseh, OK, and Clifford E. Scheuerman and wife Lynne of Great Bend; 7 grandchildren, Craig Berscheidt, Matthew Schenk, Aaron Berscheidt and wife Kayla, Jason Berscheidt and wife Liz, Jessica Kelly and husband Cody, Sarah Smith and husband Jace, and Blake Berscheidt; and 4 great grandchildren, Colson Kelly, Chloe Kelly, Emma Smith, and Layla Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, September 15, 2019, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Altar Society Rosary at 4:00 p.m. and Vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 16, 2019, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, with Father Don Bedore. Interment will be in the Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery, Ellinwood.

Memorials have been designated to the Central Kansas Association for the Visually Impaired, Golden Belt Memorial Park Veterans’ Memorial and Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.

James Richard ‘Dick’ Krewson Jr.

James Richard “Dick” Krewson Jr., 68, passed away September 13, 2019 in Spearville, KS.

He was born February 25, 1951 in Springfield, Ohio, the son of James Richard Krewson Sr. and Joan Duckwall (Krewson) Kemper. A longtime area resident, he was in retail management.

He was raised Southern Baptist. He was a family man and enjoyed hunting, fishing and Golden Retrievers.

On September 13, 1986, he married Sandi Barker in Great Bend, Ks. She survives.

Other survivors include: his mother, Joan Kemper, Memphis, TN; two daughters, Rebecca (Jason) Lutz, Spearville, KS, Sara (Trent) Bailey, Holcomb, KS; brother, Greg (Anita) Krewson, Memphis, TN; sister, Pam Krewson, Austin, TX; three grandchildren, James Lutz, Zoe Lutz and Jordan Bailey.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Richard Krewson Sr. and a sister, Barbara Krewson.

Cremation has taken place and a private family celebration will be held at a later date.

Lawrence ‘Larry’ Garman

Phillipsburg resident Lawrence “Larry” Garman passed away Sept. 11, 2019 at the Phillips County Hospital in Phillipsburg at the age of 88.

Survivors include his wife Dora Lee of the home; son Curtis of Phillipsburg; daughters, Cindy Dietz of Phillipsburg and Karen McCall of Derby; 6 grandchildren & 6 great grandchildren.

Cremation was chosen. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg.

Charlene Marie Fitzmorris

Charlene Marie Fitzmorris, 76, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 11:12 a.m., Wednesday, September 11th, 2019 while in the company of family members, at Cedars House.

Charlene was born in St. Charles, Missouri on February 25, 1943, a daughter of Charles Joseph and Margarette (Purdon) Moriarty.

Charlene attended elementary school at St. Mary’s Catholic School and graduated from St. Patrick’s High School, Parsons, Kansas. She then attended Parsons Junior College, Parsons, Kansas and later graduated from Fort Hays State University, Hays, Kansas with a degree in Elementary Education.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in McPherson, where she was a member of the Altar Society.

Charlene was a homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner. She was a bookkeeper for Lucas Motor Company, Lucas, Kansas, and taught for 28 years starting at Sylvan Grove Elementary School, Sylvan Grove, Kansas and retired from Washington Elementary School, McPherson, Kansas after 2 years.

Charlene was a member of KNEA and the NEA.

Charlene enjoyed raising her children, teaching, and spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren.

Charlene Marie Moriarty was united in marriage to Larry Joe Fitzmorris on August 17, 1963 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Parsons, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together in Parsons for a year before moving to Lucas, Kansas where they lived for 39 years. After retirement, they moved to McPherson in 2003.

She is survived by husband Larry Fitzmorris, of McPherson, Kansas; son Douglas Fitzmorris and his wife Danica, of McPherson, Kansas; daughter Kelly Kohl and her husband Rick, of Moundridge, Kansas; son Shawn Fitzmorris and his wife Christy, of Kansas City, Missouri; son Ryan Fitzmorris and his wife LaChelle, of Hays, Kansas; brother James Moriarty and his wife Sheri, of Kansas City, Missouri. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren – Riley Fitzmorris, Trevor Kohl, Addie Fitzmorris, Rory Fitzmorris, Collin Kohl, twins Jase Fitzmorris and Josie Fitzmorris, Declan Fitzmorris, Kellan Fitzmorris, and Quinn Fitzmorris.

Charlene was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson Pierce Fitzmorris.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Rosary at 7:30 p.m..

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 16 , 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, McPherson, Kansas, with Fr. Ben Shockey officiating.

Burial will be at McPherson Cemetery McPherson, Kansas.

Leann Fischer

Leann Fischer, 62, passed away September 12, 2019, at Parkwood Village, Pratt. She was born November 29, 1956, at Larned to Lee Roy & Viola (Dome) Schraeder. She married Gregg K. Fischer on August 7, 1976 at Great Bend. He survives.

Leann was a current Stafford County resident coming from Salina and Great Bend. She was previously employed as a research analyst for Columbian Title Co., Salina, and currently enjoyed all aspects of the farm and ranch life. She was a 4-H leader and enjoyed fishing, sewing, antiques and cooking. She was the number one supporter and cheerleader for her daughters.

Survivors include, her husband, Gregg of the home; two daughters, Nikki Deeds and husband Zach of Pratt, and Stacey Stump and husband Jeff of St. John; mother, Viola Schraeder of Great Bend; three sisters, Kathy Butler of Dallas, TX, Becky Soukup of Wilson, and Connie Harms of Denver, CO; and three grandchildren, August Deeds, Archer Deeds, and Clara Stump. She was preceded in death by her father, Lee Roy Schraeder.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, September 15, 2019, at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend, with family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, September 16, 2019, at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Enick presiding. Inurnment will be in the Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John.

Memorials are suggested to Victory in the Valley or Stafford County 4-H Council, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.

Esther Mader

Esther Mader, age 89, of Quinter, KS, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at Gove County Medical Center Long Term Care, Quinter.

Mary L. Todd

Mary L. Todd, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Wichita County Health Center LTCU in Leoti, Kansas.

Mary was born June 1, 1933, in Akron, Colorado, the daughter of Ted Ray & Ethel Olive ( Bailey ) Dickson. A resident of Leoti, Kansas since 1966 moving from Parks, Nebraska, she was primary checkout clerk at several Leoti grocery stores retiring in 2004.

On December 27, 1951, she married Harold Todd at Akron, Colorado. Harold passed away on January 24, 1987, in Leoti, Kansas

Mary’s surviving family includes-

Three Grandchildren-

Her parents, two siblings, Allen Dickson & Alice Rogers, and a grandson, Brett Todd precede her in death.

Brad Hrabe

Brad A. Hrabe, age 62, of Downs, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, near Osborne. He was born on November 19, 1956, in Hays, Kansas, to Doyal and Dorothy (Thyfault) Hrabe. Brad grew up in Stockton and graduated with the class of 1974. He was married to Carol Denio and was blessed with three children: Kelse, Jackie, and Trevis. They later divorced and on April 4, 2001 he married Cathy (Burgess) Hrabe.

Brad worked as a welder and was known for his strength and work ethic; living everyday by example, showing us that all things should be earned and not given. There were several things that Brad really enjoyed in life, such as Kansas State Football, Taco Bell—especially the Chalupas, and blue Ford vehicles to name a few. He was a true family man, and was one to always make it to a get together, celebration, or family event.

Brad was very outspoken, and had a voice that “carried across rooms”. Always having a witty comeback to everything, he lived in the moments, laughed a lot, and cared deeply for his family and friends. Brad found his faith and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, forever changing his life for the better. He was a member of the Grand Knight Council #8976, a member and treasurer of the Salina Cursillo, and a proud member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Tipton. He was also a Hospice volunteer, and attended the March of Life several times.

Brad is survived by his wife, Cathy Hrabe of the home in Downs; daughters, Kelse (Bryce) Schneider of Hill City, and Jackie Hrabe of Grainfield; son, Trevis Hrabe of Downs; sister, Regina Muir of Stockton; brothers, Christopher (Jean) of Salina, and Alec Hrabe of Stockton; step-daughter, Mashell (Brad) Arens of Ainsworth, Nebraska; thirteen grandchildren; and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Doyal and Dorothy Hrabe; and brother-in-law, Brad Muir.

Brad was a hardworking, loving, and dedicated family man. Although he will be greatly missed, his life, his love, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

A Memorial Mass will be held at the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Stockton, Kansas on Friday, September, 20, 2019 at 10 A.M. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 6:30 P.M. and a Divine Mercy Chaplet to follow.
