NASHVILLE (AP) – Craig Morgan said he dislocated his shoulder while horsing around with friends at the gym. What he didn’t say is that his friend is mixed martial arts fighter Dan Henderson. Morgan tells Taste of Country he had a day off between shows and he went to Henderson’s training camp near San Diego. Morgan says in the process of “picking the guy up to slam him on the ground,” they both fell on Morgan’s elbow, and it pushed his shoulder out of place. Morgan had to cancel a few shows while he had the shoulder repaired.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – The Band Perry’s lead singer is now a married woman. Kimberly Perry tied the knot with pro baseball player J.P. Arencibia. The wedding took place last Thursday near Perry’s family home in Greeneville, Tennessee. The Greeneville Sun reports the ceremony took place at a small chapel in the town’s historic district. Among those seen at the wedding: fellow country star Carrie Underwood

NEW YORK (AP) – If somehow you get inside an Eric Church show before the doors officially open, you might see him running the concourse. Church tells Rolling Stone that’s one of his favorite things to do before a concert. He says he likes to smell the popcorn and see the kegs being tapped. He says nobody is there yet but feeling the anticipation is one of his favorite things.

NEW YORK (AP) – Brad Paisley agreed to let Kraft Cheese sponsor his tour because he could be, well, cheesy. Paisley tells Rolling Stone he said yes to the sponsorship because he could spend his time thinking about summer and cheeseburgers and macaroni and cheese. Paisley plays a dumb version of himself in Kraft commercials. He says he likes anything in which he’s being an idiot. As for serious acting, he says he’ll leave that to his wife, Kimberly Williams Paisley.

Members of Shenandoah are shaken but uninjured following an early morning tour bus accident Saturday (6/7). The bus was traveling along I-10 from Stafford, TX to Beaumont when a car in front of it struck the vehicle it was following. The struck vehicle was carrying a fuel tank, which immediately exploded. “There was a big bang then we were sideswiped and engulfed in a huge fireball as big as a house,” says drummer Mike McGuire. “Witnesses behind us told authorities that the flames totally engulfed our bus at one point and you could not see it. Our driver swerved to miss them as they were just in front of us and on fire. We almost rolled the bus over on its side in attempt to swerve to miss it. If we hadn’t done that, we would’ve likely rolled off the bridge.” No critical injuries were reported; DUI charges for the car driver are expected.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) – It was one of Maya Angelou’s favorite songs. And Lee Ann Womack got to perform “I Hope You Dance” at the poet’s funeral over the weekend. Womack joined first lady Michelle Obama and former President Bill Clinton in the tribute to Angelou, who died May 28 at age 86. Angelou was said to have been inspired by Womack’s song, which urges people to take risks and live to the fullest – something many speakers Saturday said Angelou did during her life.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) – George Strait says the finale performance was “too much fun.” And the fans and fellow performers who shared the night with him would no doubt agree. The country music icon wrapped up the last tour of his career Saturday night at the stadium in Texas where the Dallas Cowboys play. Nearly 105,000 showed up to see him perform a series of duets with some of the biggest names in country music. And in keeping with his image as a patriarch of the genre, each of the performers who took the stage with him paid tribute to Strait – or got a hug from him. Jason Aldean described Strait as not only “a huge influence” for him, but for everyone else in country music.

After taking time away from the stage for personal reasons, Trace Adkins will launch a summer tour June 5 in Sayreville, NJ. The 32-date run wraps in Rohner Park, CA in late September. “I’m excited, recharged and ready to get back on the road,” says Adkins. “I owe a debt of gratitude to everyone for the outpouring of encouragement and support over the past few months.
