Netflix has rolled out an official trailer for The Other One: The Long, Strange Trip of Bob Weir, the new documentary that profiles the life of the founding Grateful Dead singer/guitarist that will premiere on the network on May 22.

The promo, which is viewable now on YouTube, features a montage of photos, archival footage and interview clips, accompanied by segments of classic Grateful Dead songs like “Shakedown Street” and “Ripple.”  At one point in the video, Bob Weir says, “I was a 16 year old kid when I joined the Grateful Dead.  It was such an amazing adventure.  The music was an adventure.  The people were an adventurous group.  It was impossibly…fun.”

The trailer also includes a clip of Sammy Hagar, who says of Weir, “If you don’t have an ego, you can be the best number-two on the planet.  And that’s kind of what Bob became.  It makes him special.”

In addition, the video features Weir commenting about his relationship with late Dead frontman Jerry Garcia.  “We had a very strong bond,” Bob notes.  “They say that blood is thicker than water.  What we had was thicker than blood.”

The Other One premiered in April 2014 at New York City’s Tribeca Film Festival.  In addition to conversations with Weir and Hagar, the movie features new interviews with The Grateful Dead’s Phil Lesh, Mickey Hart andBill Kreutzmann; various family members; such other musicians as Bruce Hornsby and Phish’s Mike Gordon.  The Other One was directed by Mike Fleiss, whose resume also includes the 2011 documentary God Bless Ozzy Osbourne and the popular reality show The Bachelor.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) – Ozzy Osbourne is so impressed with a Kentucky children’s percussion group that he’s donated $10,000 to keep them going.

The Louisville Courier-Journal reports Osbourne saw a YouTube video of the Louisville Leopard Percussionists doing their version of “Crazy Train.”

The group meets after school and consists of more than 60 students from around the Louisville area aged from 7 to 14.

The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office has decided not to file against Richie Sambora after investigating allegations that he recently threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend and one-time business partner, Nikki Lund.

According to TMZ, investigators determined that the supposed threats were part of a big misunderstanding between Lund and her publicist.

TMZ reports that Lund went to the police because her publicist told her that a friend had said Sambora had threatened to throw acid in Lund’s face.

However, prosecutors in the case revealed that the publicist told investigators Lund misunderstood him when he warned her that certain “bad things” could go down during a messy breakup.

Lund also had claimed that Sambora had pointed a gun at her and abused her physically while they were going out, she didn’t report the incidents after they occurred, according to the L.A. County D.A. office’s investigation.

The prosecutors noted that emails between Sambora and Lund seemed to support Richie’s claim that the accusations stemmed from bad feelings over the rocker’s decision to pull out of a planned business venture with his ex.

According to an article last month in the New York Daily News, Sambora and Lund, a fashion designer, launched the Nikki Rich clothing line last year and had been planning to open a boutique, but Richie pulled out of the business this past February.

The two had dated for about 10 years after the guitarist split with his wife, Heather Locklear, but Sambora recently began a relationship with Australian rock guitarist Orianth.

Bob Seger turns 70 on Wednesday, and just in time for the Michigan rocker’s milestone birthday comes word that his breakthrough album, 1976’s Night Moves, will be reissued on 180-gram vinyl June 16.

Night Moves was Seger’s first studio effort to feature his longtime backing group, The Silver Bullet Band, and was his first album to reach the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart, peaking at #8.

Bob recorded much of the album in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, with the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section.

Night Moves yielded two top-40 singles — the title track, which reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100, and the #24 hit, “Mainstreet.”  It also includes the enduring tunes “Rock and Roll Never Forgets,” “Fire Down Below,” and “Mary Lou.”

The album has gone on to sell more than six million copies in the U.S., according to the Recording Industry Association of America.

Seger recently wrapped up a North American tour in support of his latest album, Ride Out.

And Las Vegas will rock!  Van Halen has been added to the lineup of artists who will perform on the 2015 Billboard Music Awards, which ABC will broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Vegas on May 17 at 8 p.m. ET.

This will mark the first-ever awards-show performance by the legendary rock group’s current lineup — singer David Lee Roth, guitarist Eddie Van Halen, drummer Alex Van Halen and bassist Wolfgang Van Halen.

The event’s entertainment bill also includes Fall Out Boy, Hozier, Kelly Clarkson, Britney Spears, Iggy Azalea, John Legend, Meghan Trainor, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, Nick Jonas and Wiz Khalifa, among others.

Rock acts in the running for awards at the ceremony include The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Santana, Coldplay,The Black Keys and Hozier.  The show will be hosted by rapper/actor Ludacris and Legend’s wife, modelChrissy Teigen.  For more details, visit Billboard.com.

Van Halen recently released a new live album titled Tokyo Dome: Live in Concert, which was recorded in the Japanese capital in June 2013.  The rockers will launch a North American summer tour with support act theKenny Wayne Shepherd Band on July 5 in the Seattle suburb of Auburn, Washington.
