KFIX Rock News: Journey’s Neil Schon Sues San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – Journey guitarist Neal Schon says the city of San Francisco raised its fee on his wedding when it learned it would be on TV.

City officials say they did indeed but they were within their rights in doing that.

Schon is suing the city because he agreed to pay the city $58,000 for use of the Palace of Fine Arts for his wedding to “Real Housewives of D.C.” Michaele Salahi (mih-KEHL’ sah-LAH’-hee) in December 2013.

He says six days before the wedding, the city unfairly jacked up the fee to $240,000 when it found out the couple was going to broadcast the event as a pay-per-view TV show.

Schon says he paid it so the wedding would go on.

City Attorney Dennis Herrara’s office says the fee was indeed increased because the wedding evolved from a small secret wedding to a commercial broadcast and the city’s fees were adjusted accordingly.

KHAZ Country Music News: Hee Haw The Musical

khaz hee haw musical 20150206NEW YORK (AP) – Brandy Clark is hoping a musical version of “Hee Haw” will draw in people who don’t like country music. Clark and songwriter Shane McAnally are working on “Moonshine: That Hee Haw Musical.” Clark says she wants people to leave it saying, “Wow, if that was country music, I love it.” Clark says the musical is in on the joke and makes fun of the “Hee Haw” stereotype. She says she wants it to have as much heart as it does humor. It premieres in Dallas in September.

Jimmy Fallon is known for doing an uncanny Neil Young impersonation, but the Tonight Show host will be coming face to face with the real deal this week.

Young will be interviewed and serve as the musical guest on Tuesday’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, which airs at 11:35 p.m. ET/10:35 p.m. CT on NBC.

Tune in to check out if Jimmy and Neil team up for a “fake Young meets the real Young” duet.

Neil previously visited The Tonight Show last May, when he appeared with Jack White while promoting his 2014 covers collection A Letter Home, which he recorded in White’s restored 1940s Voice-o-graph booth in Nashville.

You can check out a video of Fallon in his Young persona alongside Crosby, Stills & Nash singing a folk-rock version of rapper Iggy Azalea’s hit “Fancy” on a July 14 episode of The Tonight Show at the program’s official YouTube channel.
