Perla Ferrar, Slash’s wife of 13 years, has reportedly left the guitarist. According to TMZ, Ferrar unexpectedly flew to Hawaii, taking the couple’s two sons with her.

TMZ reports that Ferrar told Slash he had until New Year’s to solve the couple’s issues. However, the website has since reported that Slash filed for divorce on Tuesday, citing irreconcilable differences. He lists the date of separation as June 15.

The rocker seeks joint legal and physical custody of 12-year-old London and 10-year-old Cash.

This isn’t the first time Slash and Ferrar have had marriage troubles.  However, one source told TMZ “this time it’s different.”

Slash previously filed for divorce from Ferrar in 2010, citing “irreconcilable differences,” but he withdrew the petition two months later. The couple then renewed their vows in 2011.

KHAZ Country Music News: Little Jimmy Dickens In Hospital

khaz little jimmy dickens 20141229NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – It doesn’t look particularly good for a country legend. Grand Ole Opry star Little Jimmy Dickens is hospitalized in the Nashville area. And a publicist for the Opry says he is in “critical care.” There’s no word on what is ailing Dickens. He last performed on Dec. 20, the day after he turned 94. KFIX Rock News: Ozzy To Appear on After-Dark Edition Of “The Talk”

ozzy in ccThe Prince of Darkness is set to appear after dark.  That is, Ozzy Osbourne will be a guest on the after-dark edition of the CBS daytime talk show The Talk.

The Black Sabbath frontman will be interviewed and will perform on the program’s late-night premiere on January 12.

Among the hosts of The Talk is Ozzy’s wife, Sharon Osbourne.  Perhaps the couple will talk about the forthcoming return of The Osbournes to television.

Or maybe they’ll chat about when Sharon pulled out her tooth live on the show, which is basically her version of Ozzy’s biting-the-head-off-a-bat incident.

Osbourne’s next live appearance will be at his festival, Ozzfiesta.  Held May 27-31 in Riviera Maya, Mexico, Ozzfiesta will feature performances by Ozzy and Black Label Society, with more acts to be announced.

KFIX Rock News: Paul McCartney Admits Writing For Video Games Is Easier Than Playing Them

Paul McCartney dropped by The Tonight Show Wednesday to plug his new single, “Hope for the Future,” which he wrote for the popular video game Destiny. Paul also admitted to host Jimmy Fallon that while it wasn’t hard for him to write the music for a video game, he’s pretty clueless when it comes to playing them.

When Fallon brought up playing the popular video game Rock Band, which contains some songs from McCartney’s former band The Beatles, the 72-year-old rock legend confessed he’s not very good and added, “It’s very hard.”

“My grandkids play and they kill me every time,” McCartney explained, then added, “But I say, ‘I wrote it.'”

McCartney’s no stranger to writing music for other projects. He also penned the theme song for the 1973 James Bond movie, Live and Let Die, and told Fallon he enjoys the challenge.

“It depends how you think of songwriting,” he explained. “I kind of think of it in a way like a craft. So I like writing songs, very personal songs just for me, but I also like when someone asks me like that, you know…It’s a bit of a challenge.”

With Christmas right around the corner, Fallon asked Paul to name some of his favorite holiday songs.  The veteran rocker said “The Christmas Song” by Nat King Cole and “‘Wonderful Christmastime’ by Paul McCartney.”

KFIX Rock News: Joan Jett Discusses Rock Hall Induction

181356680_f226d8bb56_mAs reported earlier on Tuesday, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts were among the artists who will be welcomed into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the institution’s 2015 induction ceremony, which will take place April 18 at Cleveland’s Public Hall.

Now, the band’s influential frontwoman has issued a statement expressing her feelings about the honor.

“I’m still collecting my thoughts, but the feeling is surreal,” says Jett.

“I’ve always focused on making music for the art of it, and its ability to reach others.  I am truly honored that my music has been recognized by the great rock and roll community that voted me in.”

The 2015 ceremony will be the second consecutive Rock Hall induction event at which Joan will appear.

This past April, she was one of several female artists who performed with the surviving members of Nirvana in celebration of that group’s induction at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Jett, of course, began her music career as a teenager in the 1970s when she helped found the all-female hard-rock group The Runaways.  That band broke up in 1979, and Joan released one solo album before forming the Blackhearts in 1981.

Their most recent album, Unvarnished was released in September of 2013.
