
The Hays High boys soccer team advances in the 5A state playoffs following a 1-0 victory over Newton Tuesday night. The Indians improve to 7-10 on the season and will face Salina South Thursday at 6pm in Salina. The Cougars (12-4-1) defeated Great Bend 4-2 Tuesday.
The TMP-Marian Monarchs were eliminated from the 4-3-2-1A playoffs, losing 4-0 at No. 2 seed Wichita Independent. The Monarchs end their season 4-14.

TMP-Marian Boys Soccer Wins Postseason Opener
The TMP-Marian boys soccer team wins their postseason opener. The Monarchs blank Towanda-Circle 4-0 Monday at the TMP Field to move to 4-13. They will now play No. 2 seed Wichita Independent Tuesday evening at six in Wichita. Independent is 12-4 on the season.
Hays High opens their postseason as the No. 12 seed in the 5A Central/South Central Regional and plays Newton Tuesday at seven at Bethel College. The Indians are 6-10 and the Railers 9-4-3.
TMP-Marian Boys Cross Country Qualifies for State

The TMP-Marian boys cross country team finished second at Saturday’s Ellsworth Regional to qualify for the 3A state meet. The Monarchs scored 82 points, 20 behind first-place Salina-Sacred Heart.
Andrew Hess led TMP with a fourth-place finish. The Monarch girls finished sixth and did not qualify and individuals.

HHS Qualifies Three for State Cross Country

The Hays High boys and girls’ cross country teams both finish fourth at the Newton 5A regional Saturday. Neither team qualifies for state.
Freshman Zachary Hopp led the Indian boys with a 14th place finish to qualify individually. Marie Reveles finished 15th and Haley George 18th to lead the Indian girls and also qualify for state individually.

TMP Falls to Scott City
SCOTT CITY 51 TMP 7
Scott City dominated TMP from the start on Friday night winning 51-7. The Beavers scored on 6 out of 7 first half possessions and led 41-0 at halftime. TMP scored early in the 4th Quarter on a 15 yard pass from Max Megaffin to Grant Romme, the first touchdown of the season for Grant.
Scott City is now 7-1 overall and 2-0 in Class 3A, District 15 play. TMP is 2-6 and 1-1 in district play. The Beavers will host Russell next Thursday night while TMP will hit the road to take on Hoisington with the winner of that game moving on to the 3A Playoffs.

Sub-State Volleyball Brackets
The sub-state volleyball brackets were released Wednesday morning for the tournaments on Saturday, October 26th.
At the 5A Liberal sub-state the Hays High Indians are the No. 5 seed at 12-22 and they take on the No. 4 seed and host Liberal, who is 21-16 on the season. The first match gets underway at 2:00 p.m. and the Indians play the second match on the west court.
The TMP-Marian Monarchs travel to Cimarron on Saturday and they will be the No. 8 seed with a record of 6-26. The Monarchs open the tournament with No. 1 seed Hoisington on the north court at 2:00 p.m.
At the 2A Hill City site Smith Center is 33-4 and the No. 1 seed and they open with Hill City, the No. 8 seed at 6-22. Ellis is the No. 3 seed at 23-12 and they take on Trego Community, the No. 6 seed at 13-21 in the first round. Plainville is the No. 4 seed with a record of 15-17 and they take on No. 5 Ness City at 13-16. Rawlins County is the No. 2 seed and they take on No. 7 seed Decatur Community. The first match gets underway at 1:00 p.m.

Victoria is the No. 1 seed at the Lincoln 1A Division 1 sub-state. The have an opening round bye and will take on the will over the No. 4 versus No. 5 match-up between Macksville and Fairfield. Host Lincoln is the No. 2 seed and they also have a first round bye and will take on No. 3 seed La Crosse, who also gets a first round bye, in the second round.

HHS Boys Soccer Shutout at Garden City
High School State Golf
The high school girl’s golf season came to an end Monday with State Tournaments across the state. At the 5A State tournament in Wichita at the Tex Consolver Golf Course, the Hays High Indians finished 8th as a team.
The Indians combined for a 393. The Indians shot a 205 on the front nine and a 188 on the back nine.
Lexie Schaben led the way for the Indians with a 94, tied for 21st and Katie Brungardt finished in a tied for 27th with a 96.
Kaupaun Mt. Carmel won the team championship with a 360 and Alisa Kim from Salina Central shot a 77 and was the individual champion.
At the 3A state tournament at South wind County Club in Garden City, TMP-Marian’s Monica Michaud finished 23rd with a 106 and Hannah Michaud finished with a round of 128.
