Victoria Sweeps TMP

GIRLS:    Victoria  44   TMP   41   (OT)

The Ellis County Battle between the TMP Lady Monarchs and the Victoria Lady Knights could not be settled in 4 Quarters, with Victoria winning 44-41 in overtime.  TMP trailed 33-22 early in the 4th and went on an 11-0 run to tie the game at 33.  The Monarchs would get 2 Jenna Schuckman free throws with 19 seconds left in regulation to send the game to overtime.  Heather Ruder’s 3 point attempt at the buzzer came up short which would have sent the game to a 2nd overtime.

Ruder and Schuckman led TMP in scoring with 14 each.  Brooke Schmidt led Victoria with 14 as well.

Rose McFarland Interview:
Rose MacFarland 12-18-12

BOYS:   Victoria  53   TMP  38

A tough shooting night for TMP led the Monarchs to their 5th loss of the season, losing 53-28 to Victoria.  TMP held the lead for much of the first half but Victoria finished the half on a 16-1 run to take a 10 point lead at the break.  The 3rd Quarter did the Monarchs in being outscored 13-2.  TMP did a little cosmetic work on the scoreboard in the 4th Quarter but never threatened the Knights’ lead.

Shane Zimmerman lead TMP with 9 points while Clayton Roth paced Victoria with 15.

Monarchs Fall Twice to Ellinwood

GIRLS:  Ellinwood 74       TMP  64

Heather Ruder poured in a career high 30 points but it wasn’t enough as the TMP Lady Monarchs fell to 0-5 on the season.  A Ruder 3 to start the 4th Quarter put TMP up 59-58 but it would be the last time the Lady Monarchs would be in front.  They will travel to Victoria on Tuesday.

BOYS:   Ellinwood 61   TMP  54

TMP fell down by 12 midway through the 2nd Quarter Friday night and it looked like a blowout was on hand.  The Monarchs scratched back to within 6 at halftime and led 43-41 going into the 4th Quarter.  That would be the end of the celebration for TMP as the Eagles had to much down the stretch to get the win.  TMP is now 1-4 and will play at Victoria on Tuesday.
