Chiefs Bowe Has Refreshed Outlook on Life

Chiefs-BoweKANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) – Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe has a new contract, a new coach and a new quarterback, and with all of that a new sense of happiness when he steps on the field.

Bowe says he’s “blessed to be alive,” and that’s clear in his demeanor.

Once a moody wide receiver with a less-than-sparkling reputation, Bowe can be caught dancing around during lulls in practice and spending every extra second afterward signing autographs.

He says that he’s “just trying to let loose and be joyful,” and he thinks that may help him have one of his best seasons.

He’s in the first year of his new five-year deal, and with quarterback Alex Smith throwing him the ball, is certain that he’ll once again be among the league’s best wide receivers.

Royals’ player suspended 105 games

AP)— Miguel Tejada has been suspended 105 games by Major League Baseball for violating its joint drug program, one of the longest suspensions ever handed Tejadadown.

The 39-year-old Tejada had previously tested positive under the league’s amphetamine policy, so he was subject to a 25-game ban for a second test and an 80-game suspension for a third, both of which occurred while playing for the Kansas City Royals this season.

Major League Baseball does not identify what substance was used, but Yahoo! Sports said in its report that it was Adderall, typically prescribed for attention deficit disorder.

Tejada, who signed a one-year deal with the Royals last offseason, will begin serving the suspension while on the 60-day disabled list with a strained calf muscle. He would need to fulfill the remainder of the suspension next season before he’s eligible to play.

Tejada was hitting .288 with three homers and 20 RBIs in 53 games before getting hurt.
