Royals Rocked By Minnesota

Sean O’Sullivan failed to get out of Minnesota’s six-run third inning as the Twins end a four-game losing streak with an 8-2 win over the Kansas City Royals in the first game of their four-game series at Kauffman Stadium.

Four of the runs in the big frame were unearned after second baseman Mike Aviles made a throwing error. Denard Span, Matt Tolbert and Rene Rivera all had RBI singles and Michael Cuddyer hit a run-scoring double in the big frame.

O’Sullivan gives up seven runs, three earned in just 2 2/3 innings.

Jeff Francoeur had three hits and drove in two and Joakim Soria pitched two perfect innings of relief.

Danny Duffy pitches tonight for the Royals with pre-game at 6:35pm on KAYS.
