NASHVILLE (AP) – Lynn Anderson is out of jail after being arrested for drunk driving. The Nashville Tennessean quotes police as saying Anderson showed “signs of impairment” after she was involved in a crash Thursday evening. A warrant says Anderson admitted to drinking and taking prescription medication. Jail officials say Anderson was released Friday on $5,000 bond and has a court date November 20. Anderson says in a statement she is “deeply sorry” for anyone she has harmed. Anderson’s biggest hit was “Rose Garden” in 1970.

CHICAGO (AP) – Garth Brooks couldn’t find a digital music service he liked, so he created his own. Brooks has been a longtime holdout for selling his music digitally but he’s now selling it through GhostTunes.com. He’s a part owner. Brooks says the site is friendlier to artists and to consumers. He’s selling his entire catalog, plus an upcoming live album, his upcoming studio album and the studio album he’ll put out next year as a bundle for what he calls a “stupid” price: $30. Brooks says if you waited all this time for him to go digital, you should be rewarded. The site also sells millions of recordings from other artists as well.

CHICAGO (AP) – Garth Brooks figures the first shows of his comeback tour are going to be awful. Brooks played his first show of the series last night in Chicago. Brooks says every show will be better than the last, so he hopes whoever saw last night’s show was patient. Brooks says he purposely tried to stage a lot of shows and to not soak people on the ticket price. He says it kills him to get letters from people who say they would have loved to see his show but they couldn’t afford it. Tickets for Brooks’ Chicago shows went for as little as $55.

NASHVILLE (AP) – Dierks Bentley says he’s not the guy who gets nominated for awards, but “the guy who knows the guy who gets nominated.” He says he’s the guy at the award show who the cameras catch with the “you just lost” reaction shot. Bentley has five nominations for the Country Music Association Awards. Miranda Lambert leads the way with nine. Keith Urban says he felt a “euphoria” at being nominated again for entertainer of the year and three other awards. The CMAs will be handed out November 5 in Nashville.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – A country superstar and her hockey-playing husband are expecting. “American Idol” winner Carrie Underwood and husband, NHL player Mike Fisher, are having a baby. They each posted messages on their Twitter accounts with Underwood saying hers was in honor of Labor Day. Underwood’s publicist confirms the couple is expecting their first baby next spring. Underwood has won six Grammys. Fisher is a center for the NHL’s Nashville Predators.

NASHVILLE (AP) – Trisha Yearwood says she used to look at her career like a baseball player, thinking she only had a few good years. She says after 23 years, she’s not done swinging the bat. Yearwood will release “Prize Fighter,” her first album in seven years. A release date was not given. She will tour with her husband, Garth Brooks, beginning September 4 in Chicago. Yearwood will also release a new cookbook, “Trisha’s Table,” in April. Her cooking show, “Trisha’s Southern Kitchen,” premieres its fifth season on the Food Network on Saturday. Yearwood says she never intended for her hosting gig to take over her music, but it’s difficult to do both. She says her two careers are “co-existing.”

Garth Brooks has broken his own record for for tickets sold in Atlanta, according to his publicist. The previous record was for shows played from March 13-17, 1996 at the Omni with 81,902. Brooks surpassed that number following the Saturday (8/16) addition of two shows at Philips Arena, which brought the total there to seven. Get your Atlanta tickets here.

CARTHAGE, Tex. (AP) – Duane Allen of The Oak Ridge Boys didn’t want to be inducted into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame alone, so the rest of the group was inducted too. Allen is the only Texan, but the hall of fame proclaimed the rest of the group honorary Texans. Texas Governor Rick Perry also named Allen an honorary admiral in the Texas Navy. Allen asked his wife and management to put together the hall of fame exhibit so it would be a surprise to him. He says he was “emotionally overcome” when he saw it.

Garth Brooks has added two more shows in Atlanta – a 10:30 pm show Sept. 20 and a 7:30 pm show Sept. 21. This brings his Philips Arena show count to five. Brooks is working closely with Ticketmaster to prevent scalping. Tickets for the new shows go on sale Saturday (8/16).
