ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) – Darius Rucker and Chris Daughtry will need to get their game voices on. They both will be part of the hoops hoopla surrounding the NCAA Final Four. Rucker will sing the national anthem before Monday night’s championship game. And Daughtry will perform before the Saturday’s games that will determine who will compete for the national men’s college basketball title.

HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) – It was hard to believe the first time it happened. But now it’s happened again. A stuffed armadillo that’s an on-stage mascot for Willie Nelson has been swiped a second time. The most recent kidnapping of “Ol’ Dillo” happened after a show Monday night at a hotel near Las Vegas. Someone lifted the stuffed beast while Nelson did a meet-and-greet with audience members. The critter was returned the following day – after Nelson’s crew asked the hotel to check surveillance footage to help find the culprit. Ol’ Dillo was swiped after a show in New York State last fall. The armadillo was returned after that caper, too.

More than 10 years after his death, Johnny Cash has debuted on top of the country albums chart with the Columbia/Legacy release Out Among The Stars. The collection features 12 previously unreleased songs recorded more than 30 years ago and discovered by his son John Carter Cash. Stars sold almost 54,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan figures, and landed at No. 3 in the all-genre chart.

Blake Shelton and The Voice co-star Shakira will perform “Medicine” on the 49th Annual ACM Awards Sunday (4/6). The pair recorded the song for her new self-titled album. They’ll join previously announced performers Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Brett Eldredge, Hunter Hayes, Miranda Lambert, Toby Keith, Justin Moore, Kip Moore, George Strait, Keith Urban, The Band Perry, Florida Georgia Line and Lady Antebellum with Stevie Nicks. LEBANON, Tenn. (AP) – It’s a trap that who listens to Bob Dylan music can fall into: trying to mimic the phrasing and style of the legendary singer. So, when Charlie Daniels set out to do an album featuring covers of 10 Dylan songs, he had one request of his producer: don’t let him start trying to “do” Dylan. He says while Dylan has had a big effect on his music, he wanted his takes on those songs to sound like him, not like someone pretending to be Dylan. Daniels says Dylan has been an influence and mentor – he played as a studio musician on Dylan’s landmark album “Nashville Skyline” in 1969. He released his own album the following year.

The 49th Annual ACM Awards April 6 will have no shortage of notable moments. The Band Perry will open the telecast with a performance of “Chainsaw”; Miranda Lambert and George Strait will deliver a tribute medley to honor Merle Haggard’s 50 years in music; Garth Brooks will present Haggard with the Academy’s Crystal Milestone Award; Hunter Hayes will perform “Invisible” as part of ConAgra Foods’ Child Hunger Ends Here campaign; and Florida Georgia Line and Luke Bryan will deliver “This Is How We Roll” accented by action sports stars and BMX riders Nitro Circus. The latter happens via live remote from the 4th Annual ACM Fan Jam at the Mandalay Bay Events Center.

LONDON (AP) – The Band Perry consider themselves lucky that they’re family and get to experience the world together. Sometimes they even bring their parents on tour with them — and sometimes they wish their parents were with them. Singer Kimberly Perry says you’d think that with her brothers in their 20s and she herself now 30 they would have grown up, but they haven’t. She says she made a panicky phone call to their mother a few weeks ago because Reid and Neil were having “a brotherly debate” five minutes before going on stage. She says she needed Mom to talk them off the ledge and they figured out a way for both brothers to win.
