The Hays Larks get a three-run homer from Cam Brown in the first inning, and coast from there to a 4-2 win in five innings over the Haysville Heat on Saturday night.
The Larks add a run when Tito Andino scored on a wild pitch following a steal of third. Haysville scores two in the fourth, but could not draw any closer.
The Larks were preparing to open the sixth inning in the field when threatening skies finally started to drop rain. After a 44-minute delay, the game was called and ruled official.
Jorge Guarneros gives up two runs over five innings for his first win of the season. The Larks turn four double plays in the first five innings.
The Larks are now 5-2 on the season and 2-1 in the Jayhawk League. Haysville drops to 4-4 on the season. The Larks go for the sweep tonight at 7pm at Larks Park. It is Military Appreciation Night.
