A foreclosure sale on property at Fort Hays State University yielded one bidder. Uniplace had the rights to build a housing project on the site where Agnew Hall was torn down.
Commerce Bank has foreclosed against Uniplace for default on Stadium Place Apartments and Paul Wertenberger Construction also filed against Uniplace. A representative of Paul Wertenberger made the bid of $1,000 during the sheriff’s sale Wednesday morning. The bid was accepted, allowing the company to construct the university’s housing project. Fort Hays general counsel Todd Powell says this housing will be slightly different than the apartments.
When the sheriff’s sale is held for the foreclosed apartments, Powell says the university will bid on the property.
