Royals starter Filipe Paulino settled down after a rough early start but the Kansas City offense couldn’t catch up in Arizona’s 5-3 win for the series sweep at Kauffman Stadium.

The Diamondbacks scored all five of their runs over the first four innings before Paulino retired 13 straight. His eight-plus innings match the longest outing in his career, striking out eight and walking only one.

Arizona starter Daniel Hudson pitched seven strong innings for his ninth win. Alex Gordon extended his hitting streak to ten games.
