
The Hays Eagles Senior American Legion baseball team hand the Salina Falcons their first doubleheader sweep of the season, winning 11-9 and 10-5 last night at Dean Evans Stadium.
Daniel Braun worked out of a bases loaded jam in the seventh, allowing just one run to preserve the win in game one. The Eagles never trailed in the game, sending 11 to the plate in a five-run fifth. Jarrett Sanders had two doubles and drove in two. Hayden Hutchison added a two-run homer.
The Eagles jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the second game. The Falcons pulled within a run in the third until Hays scored six in the sixth to break it open. Clayton Basgall worked 6 1/3 innings allowing only four hits and just one past the third.
The Eagles are now 18-8 and host Dodge City in a doubleheader tonight at 6 o’clock at Larks Park.
