Matt Treanor’s two-out two-run single in the sixth broke a 3-all tie and lifted the Kansas City Royals to a 5-3 win against the Chicago White Sox Tuesday night at U.S. Cellular Field. It also helped Filepe Paulino to his first win in a little over a year.
Paulino struck out nine over six innings, allowing three runs on nine hits while walking two and throwing 120 pitches. Alcides Escobar hit a two-run triple as the Royals win for just the fifth time in their last 19 games.
The series wraps up this afternoon with Royals pre-game 12:35pm on KAYS.
