In their first review of the proposed 2012 budget, the Hays City Commission Thursday night discussed funding for the outside agencies with most of the conversation focused on the Downtown Hays Development Corporation. Commissioner Kent Steward said he doesn’t agree with previous commission discussions on reducing DHDC’s funding.
Commissioner Ron Mellick says over time the amount should be decreased.
The commission will decide outside agency funding at the July 21st work session. The proposed budget maintains this year’s 25 mill levy.
