Wichita Dad Talks After Kids Taken From Home

WICHITA (AP) – The father of eight Wichita children placed in protective custody after three were found wandering a street says he doesn’t blame the kids for wanting to live somewhere else.

The children’s father told KSNW-TV that the family’s home isn’t “the biggest place in the world,” but he said it’s all he has. He also said he’s heard teh children say they don’t like the family’s current home.

Three of the family’s children, ages 5, 6, and 7, were found wandering Wednesday saying they were looking for a new home. Police took the children back to their home where they found five more children, ages 4 months to 8 years.

Police said living conditions there were unsuitable for children. The state is investigating the case, but no charges have been filed.
