The Kansas City Royals resume play following the All-Star break in Minnesota with the first of a four-game series Thursday night at Target Field. Lefty Bruce Chen makes the start for Kansas City against Twins lefty Francisco Liriano. Both have won five games so far this season.
The Royals are 37-54. The Twins are 41-48 but have been one of the hottest teams in the American League over the last several months and are just 6 1/2 games out in the AL Central.
