
Mark Buehrle pitched seven strong innings, winning for the first time since June 9th, as the Chicago White Sox down the Kansas City Royals 5-2 Monday night at Kauffman Stadium. Buehrle allowed the two runs on five hits while striking out three to snap a five-game winless stretch, moving him to 22-11 lifetime against the Royals.
Kyle Davies went 5 1/3 innings for the Royals, allowing four runs, two earned, on five hits with three walks to lose his eighth straight start. Davies has not recorded a win since April 13th. Billy Butler had two doubles and knocked in a run for the Royals who lose for the seventh time in their last nine games.
