The Hays Police Department has responded to rumors surrounding recent sexual assaults that are under investigation. Two assaults have been reported to the police this month.
The first was on July 1st at about 5am in the 2900 block of Country Lane. That suspect is a dark-complected man, 5’8” to 6 feet tall, muscular with heavy dark eyebrows. He’s described in his early to mid 20’s.
The second was July 10th around midnight at an apartment two blocks from campus. That suspect is a black male, late teens to early 20’s with short cropped hair.
These are the only two reported sexual assaults, and police say they do not appear to be related. Police Chief Don Scheibler also says at this time there is no indication that they are related to any type of gang activity.
Police are still asking for anyone with information to contact the department.
