The City of Hays is transferring $1.7 million from the Commission Financial Policy Projects line item in the current budget to the Capital Projects Fund. The move sets aside money for planned projects including the reconstruction of 41st Street in 2013.
Commissioner Ron Mellick says it’s a wonderful pay-as-you-go move. This maneuver allows the city to pay cash for projects rather than using bonds.
