The Hays Arts Council Thursday night requested $35,000 from the City ofHaysas a one-time funding boost to help supplement the funding no longer provided through the state. President Jennifer Saur says the funding will be used as seed money to kick off other fund raising efforts.
Commissioner Kent Steward says there is a precedent for one-time special payments, but with the possibility of other requests, he suggests a deeper evaluation.
The issue will be reviewed at the October 20th work session.
