Victor Ortiz has a vision in his mind of people all over Garden City tuned in to their television sets to watch him battle undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr. on Saturday night.

The Kansas City Star reports that Ortiz envisions his friends in Lawrence doing the same thing, including a bunch of fraternity members sitting around a TV and bonding over their adopted brother.

The 24-year-old Garden City native remained humble as he rose through the boxing ranks, unlike the flashy Mayweather, a 34-year-old who at 41-0 is a big favorite to win the fight.

Ortiz holds the World Boxing Council Welterweight championship and is given a puncher’s chance of beating Mayweather.

The two square off in Las Vegas in a fight billed as “Star Power” by promoters.
