This is Child Passenger Safety Week, and the Kansas Department of Transportation and Radio Disney are hosting events across the state. Norraine Wingfield with the Kansas Traffic Safety Resource Office says one of those events will be held at The Mall in Hays Sunday afternoon.

Wingfield says 97 percent of Kansas children ages 0 to 4 are properly restrained, but only 77 percent of those ages 5 to 9 are buckled in. Sunday’s event at The Mall will be from 1-2:30.
