Ellis County has voted to join the Kansas Legislative Policy Group. The lobbying organization is made up of county commissioners representing western Kansas. KLPG representative John Pinegar says the group is gearing up to represent western Kansas on a variety of issues in the upcoming legislative session.

Each member county pays a $500 flat fee plus an amount based on the county’s mineral rights and personal property valuations. Ellis County’s fee will be around $7,000.
