The snow melt is creating a muddy mess in area alleys. Hays Public Works Director I.D. Creech says trash will still be picked up in the alleys, but he’s asking other residents to limit their travel in the alleys as much as possible until they dry out.

In the streets, city crews are working to repair potholes and clean up the salt and sand.
