Transitioning from a brick and mortar facility to work at home is what some N.E.W. employees are contemplating. The company announced Tuesday that it will close the Hays facility at the end of March. Senior Vice President of Human Resources Terri Feely explains that despite employing approximately 280 people, the facility was not close to capacity.
Feely says HR teams will remain at the facility this week and at other times until the closing to assist the employees.
The company came to Hays in 2004 after receiving thousands of dollars in incentives from the city, county, state and the private sector. Time is not up on the company’s ten year lease for the building, and Feely says they’d be willing to sublease the facility.
