Because of the prediction of snowfall for Hays by the National Weather Service, the Hays Police and Public Works Departments are requesting residents and business owners to move  their vehicles from the Emergency Snow Routes prior to the storm.

Removal of vehicles from the snow routes greatly assists in the street clearing efforts by the city.

Police Chief Don Scheibler says residents should dispose of  snow on their lawns.  Piling snow on city streets creates a traffic hazard that lingers for several days.
