Ellis County Emergency Medical Services wins  the 2011 American Red Cross  Battle of the Badges blood drive in Hays.

A total of 251 units of whole blood were collected during the event Dec. 13 through  Dec. 30.

EMS received 114 votes, and has won the local Battle of the Badges five times since it started in 2003.

Also participating were the Ellis County Sheriff’s office, Hays Police Department, Hays Fire Department and Ellis County Rural Fire.
