Lehman’s Career Day Helps Lady Tiger To Road Win At Missouri Southern

The Fort Hays State Lady Tigers shot 52-percent in the second half including 3-of-5 from 3-point range as they rally from a 10-point first half deficit to defeat Missouri Southern 67-58 Saturday afternoon in Joplin.

Kate Lehman led the Tigers with a career day, scoring 28 points, grabbing 17 rebounds and blocking six shots. Lehman was 13-of-14 from the field, missing only her final shot of the game.

Fort Hays State used an 18-7 run over a 5:45 stretch of the second half, keyed by two Kimber Weiser 3-pointers, to build an eight-point lead.

The Lady Tigers led early by four, but a six-minute scoreless drought saw them fall behind by ten with 1:54 to play in the first half and were down 31-25 at the break.

Wieser and Kaiameka Brown both scored 12 for FHSU who has own four straight to improve to 19-7 and 10-7 in the MIAA.
