The Ellis County Commission received letters from the City of Ellis and the Ellis Community
Foundation in support of continued membership with Northwest Kansas Planning and Development. Following last week’s presentation from the executive director, the county commission Monday agreed to pay the dues for another year. However Commission Chair Swede Holmgren requested better communication.
The commission approved the membership fee of $37,800 on a 2-1 vote with Dean Haselhorst voting no. He says it’s too much to pay to be a member of an organization.
