Only a few area communities held elections Tuesday for open city council seats. In Ellis the three open positions will be filled by John Walz, who received the most votes, Lyle Johnston and Martin LaBarge.

The one open seat on the LaCrosse City Council was won by Joseph Proffitt.

In Russell, the Ward 1 winner is Michelle Wagner and in Ward 2 Paul Phillips garnered the most votes.

Serving on the Lucas City Council will be Tarry Dougherty and Sheree Ward-Herold.
