The Kansas Department of Revenue is upgrading to a new, more efficient system for titling and registering vehicles beginning Monday, April 30 late in the evening.
Kansas vehicle registration records, all 6.8 million, will be converted to the new system, a process that will take about 100 hours.
So plan ahead, advises Kathleen Brenner of the Ellis County Treasurer’s Office. There will be no processing anywhere in the state of vehicle title work, vehicle registration renewals, nor issuing of driver’s licenses and other identification cards May 1-7.
The new system is expected to be online May 8.
