The Downtown Hays Development Corporation (DHDC) and the FrostFest planning committee thanks everyone who participated and attended the 12th Annual FrostFest Illuminated Parade. What a wonderful evening in the heart of Hays!

The parade, sponsored by Nex-Tech and Nex-Tech Wireless, took place on Saturday, December 8th in Historic Downtown Hays. This year’s parade theme, Candy Cane Lane, was submitted by the 2011-2012 third grade class from Mrs. Callahan’s room at Roosevelt Elementary School, who were honored as this year’s Grand Marshall. Parade entries were judged on use of theme, lighting and creativity. This is the third year for the Nex-Tech Wireless People’s Choice award, which was voted on by parade goers via text message.

• 2nd Place – Montana Mikes
• 3rd Place – Hays Public Library

Business:

• 1st Place – Montana Mikes

Religious:

• 1st Place – Friends of Christ
• 2nd Place – St. Nicholas Jr. CYO

Schools:

• 1st Place – NCK-Tech

• 1st Place – Hays Public Library
• 2nd Place – 1900’s Christmas Buggy
• 3rd Place – American Legion Riders

The theme for the 2013 parade is Inside Santa’s Workshop. It was submitted by Jaelynn Wells during the annual FrostFest Theme Contest held every fall. Jaelynn will serve as next year’s Grand Marshall.

The parade will be aired on Eagle Community TV, watch Hays Channel 14 Throughout the week. It will air on Channel 14 Monday through Friday at 11am, 4pm, and 8pm.
