NEWTON -The Harvey County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash involving a van and some equipment in a construction site on U.S. 50 between Newton and Walton early Thursday.

Authorities believe the vehicle may have been stolen. The driver of the van was not located.

Preliminary damage estimates to construction site and the equipment could be as high as a half million dollars.

Workers were not at work at that hour. There were no injuries reported.
