They lived in Norwood, Colorado until March of 1956, when they came back to Jetmore, where they lived and worked until moving to WaKeeney in December of 1962. Luella cooked in restaurants for 13 years, then she went to work at Trego Memorial Hospital for 21 years, as a cook. Cooking was a passion for Luella. Even though she cooked for a living, Luella loved to cook for family and friends.

The holidays were a special time for her. She looked forward to decorating every room of her home. Luella was known for her always growing collection of salt and pepper shakers. She loved to play bingo, or sit down to a good challenge in a jigsaw puzzle or word search game. Luella was also known to brag about her grandkids, as she was especially proud of each of them. She will be dearly missed.
