DODGE CITY – A Kansas man died in an accident just before 2:30a.m. on Wednesday in Ford County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Hyundai passenger vehicle driven by Luis Felipe Carrillo-Munoz, 20, Dodge City, was eastbound on McArtor Road a mile north and west of the U. S. 56 and U.S. 283 Junction.

The vehicle left the roadway, slid through a ditch, became partially airborne and hit a power pole.

The vehicle continued, hit carports and made contact with a private driveway.

The vehicle then became airborne again. It struck another power pole and a tree and the driver was ejected from vehicle.

Carrillo-Munoz was transported to Western Plains Medical Center where he died.

He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
