HAYS, Kan. – Dom Samac scored a career-high 28 points to lead the hot-shooting Fort Hays State Tigers to an 84-75 home win over Nebraska-Kearney in front of 2,955 Saturday. The Tigers shot 57-percent as they improve to 7-2 overall and 1-2 in the MIAA. The Lopers, who lost their second straight, fall to 4-5 and 1-3 in the MIAA.

The Tigers never trailed in the game, scoring the first five then using a 10-2 run to go up 11 with 9:42 to play in the first half and led by 11 at halftime.
UNK hit their first four three-point attempts in the second half to pull within four. The Tigers answered with a 7-2 run, capped by a Kenny Enoch 3-pointer, to push the lead back to nine with 11:35 to play.
Samac was 11-of-16 from the floor and hit 6 of 7 free throws to go along with eight rebounds in 31 minutes. Rob Davis added 20 points, Jake Stoppel 14 and Kenny Enoch 13.
The Lopers were led by Trey Lansman who scored a game-high 30 points.
