An early morning storm rumbled through Ellis County on Monday, offering up thunder and lightning — as well as a bit of moisture.
Early reports from Hays showed up to 0.14 inches of precipitation from the storm, which rolled through the area at around 4 a.m. Monday.
The Eagle Media Center, 2300 Hall Street, received 0.09 inches of rain. Official rainfall in Hays as reported by the K-State Ag Research Center south of town was 0.16 inches.
Areas of Russell County received up to 0.2 inches, with other surrounding counties reporting trace rainfall.
Skies are expected to clear later Monday morning, with south winds picking up and the temperature rising. The chance for more storms returns Tuesday evening.
