TMP-Marian’s Dylan Schumacher is one win away from a fourth state title. Schumacher opened the first day of the 3-2-1A state wrestling championships with a first period fall at 126 then recorded two more wins, one by major decision and the other 5-0 to advance to Friday night’s final where he’ll face Hunter Speer of Horton. Speer is 39-2 on the year.

The Monarchs Scott Heimann won his first match Thursday at 182 but lost in the second round and will wrestle on the consolation side of the bracket Friday morning.

Ellis’ Riley Hunsicker will wrestle for the 170 pound championship Friday night. Hunsicker edged Plainville’s Nathan Thyfault 4-2 in last night’s semifinals and will face Wellsville’s Jesse LeMay who is 40-2.
